How to Measure your Floor
-
Step 1
Identify Your Room or Area
Start by establishing the room or space where you want to install your flooring. This will help you visualise the layout and understand which parts of the area need to be measured.
-
Step 2
Divide and Measure Each Section
Break the room into simple rectangles or squares. Measure the length and width of each section in metres, then multiply them together to find the area (Length × Width) for each shape.
This makes it easier to measure irregular rooms accurately. -
Step 3
Calculate the Total Area in Square Metres (SQM)
Add up the area of all the sections you measured to get the total area in square metres (SQM).
This total tells you how much flooring you’ll need.
✅ Tip: Always order a little extra to cover cutting, trimming, or fitting waste — it ensures you have enough to fully cover your floor.
